The Cieplice Health Resort (“Uzdrowisko Cieplice” Sp. z o.o.) continues the centuries-old tradition of using natural raw materials for therapy. Balneological treatment has been conducted continuously since 1281, thus the Cieplice Health Resort is the oldest resort of this kind in Poland. Cieplice Śląskie Zdrój, which nowadays belongs to Jelenia Góra, had been an autonomous health resort until 1976 and had an enormous influence on the tourism development in the Karkonosze region. It is famous from its springs (from 17 to 60 degrees Celsius hot) of sulphuric and high-basic mineral water, which is highly effective in treating illnesses of the body motor organs, the urinary and circulatory systems and the eyesight.
