Pałac w Brodach
The Baroque palace was built in the years 1741-1753 in the village of Brody in the district of Żary. According to Wikipedia, the first palace was designed and built there by the architect Francko for the Promnitz family in the years 1670-1674. Seventy years later, in 1740, Count Henry Brühl paid 160,000 Saxony’s silver thalers the Watzdorf family for 2,000 hectares and ordered the construction of a new palace there. This task was carried out by the architect Jan Krzysztof Knöffel in the years 1741–1753.
In times of Count Henry von Brühl, garden which is a part of the palace was the largest baroque garden in Saxony. The park complex, with many ponds and a theater, was created by Dutch gardeners.
As you can see on the pictures below the stylish and elegant interiors of the facility emphasize its historic character. Palace offers 90 beds in 37 rooms, located in the left wing of the Palace and Park Complex.
Rooms are equipped with TV and Internet & are different and unique. The service, including manager Elżbieta & waitress Katarzyna was friendly, helpful and accommodating.
The Palace gives the opportunity to organize weddings, special and corporate events as well as conferences. The ballroom can accommodate 150 people. The other 3 rooms can accommodate up to 145 people.
The restaurant offers Polish and European cuisine as well as a rich and tasty breakfast.
After a tasty meal, you can visit sauna, jacuzzi or go on horse riding.
